World Thinking Day 2014

SU 201 - O'Fallon during World Thinking Day last year

Each year on Feb. 22, World Thinking Day, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world participate in activities and projects with global themes. The theme for World Thinking Day 2014 is "education opens doors for all girls and boys." This theme is based on United Nation’s Millennium Development Goal 2, to achieve universal primary education and is especially focused on making sure girls have access to education. Educating girls is one of the most powerful and effective ways to reduce global poverty. According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), 66 million girls worldwide do not attend school.

Many GSSI Service Units and Troops choose to participate in World Thinking Day. We’d love to see your photos! Please send photos to Communications & Marketing Manager Erin Johnson at ejohnson@gsofsi.org for a chance to be featured in GSSI publications!
